On August 5th we will be taking a short boat ride out of Burnham Harbor in Chicago to visit a few of the many wrecks which dot the southern end of Lake Michigan. To make this dive accessible to those who do not like to go too deep, we have selected two well know wrecks that are fairly shallow. The first is the Material Service Barge, a 239 ft. self unloading barge that was built in 1929. It sits upright in 30 ft. of water. The second wreck is the wooden tug, Tacoma. She sank in 1929 and sits upright in about 35 ft. of water.
Our charter is with Windy City Diving, a well known and reputable dive operator in Chicago. We will meet at Burnham Harbor which is sits near Soldier Field and the Museum Campus. Whether you are Northbound or Southbound on Lake Shore Drive, Exit onto 18th Drive, and head East. E. 18th Drive becomes S. Museum Campus Drive, which then becomes E. Solidarity Drive. Turn Right onto S. Linn White Drive and proceed South approximately 400 ft. to the Judd Goldman Sailing Center & Dock located on the right.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in this dive. We are limited to seven divers! NOTE! The cost is $ 120.00 per person, however, if we fill the boat, the cost per person drops to $ 100.00
